The Vision and Mission of the Skills Training Institute

Picture
Our vision is to create a systematic cycle of training and job creation that will rebuild and sustain Kansas City’s urban communities. This mission includes the Skills Training Institute (STI) partnering with our Business Communities, our Neighborhood Associations and our Urban  Communities to create and perpetuate this systematic cycle.

Our vision is designed to gain and sustain a positive impact on our distressed urban constituents and our communities. Our mission will be accomplished by training and employing individuals with the desire and aptitude  for technical training thus enabling them to become vital contributors to their families and our communities.

The Values that Guide

1. We will make decisions for the Institute that provide the best end result for our students and our communities.

2. We will favor decisions that create long term improvement for our communities over short term expediency for the Institute.

3. We will set goals that inspire, encourage and are rooted in high expectations for extraordinary results.
