Applied Skills Consortium (ASC) will provide students the opportunity to apply the skills learned at Skills Training Institute. This hands-on training will enhance and fortify the theoretical and lab instruction the students will receive. ASC will provide opportunities for the students to receive on the job training (OJT) by partnering with various community organizations that are currently developing and rehabbing our community. This will give the students an opportunity to apply their training at every stage of their training and at every level of their training.
The homeowners in our communities will benefit financially from their ability to receive the necessary repairs to their properties at reduced rates by students of the Skills Training Institute. The property values in our neighborhoods will increase therefore increasing the overall financial health of our communities. The students have a vested interest in the completion of repairs in their own neighborhoods. By repairing, rehabbing and developing homes and businesses in their communities, these individuals will become self reliant.
Applied Skills Consortium will employ experienced craftsman and supervisors to guide and monitor their training to ensure the Skills Training Institute produces highly trained and highly skilled individuals. Applied Skills Consortium will provide a training ground for contractors, industrial, and commercial companies. ASC will also offer a pool of highly trained individuals to supplement the workforce of contractors in our communities. This provides a win-win relationship between our communities and the businesses outside our communities.
